Building Applications

Roofs and Terraces

DETECT+ RED is particularly suitable for detecting micro-leaks under waterproofing membranes or bituminous coatings. It allows waterproofing tests to be carried out after the installation or repair of a roof to confirm the absence of infiltration. Thanks to its bright color, it makes damp areas or slope defects visible, even over large surfaces. It is a very useful tool for roofers, waterproofing specialists, and diagnostic experts.

Drinking Water Networks and Sensitive Environments

DETECT+ RED is particularly suitable for drinking water networks and sensitive environments thanks to its food-grade, non-toxic, and non-polluting formulation when used according to recommendations. It allows tracing and diagnostic operations to be carried out without compromising water quality or disrupting installations. In drinking water networks, it is used to check the tightness of pipelines, control interconnections, or identify discrete leak points. In natural or regulated environments, such as wetlands, treatment plants, or retention basins, it facilitates the location of flows and discharges while limiting environmental impacts. Its immediate visibility in natural light makes it a reliable tool for conducting investigations in contexts where health safety and environmental protection are priorities.

Bathrooms and Pools

In bathrooms, pools, or spas, this tracer facilitates the location of leaks in basins, plumbing networks, or technical equipment. It also allows the tightness of joints, fittings, and welds to be checked, particularly in areas hidden under tiles or in built-in parts. This use significantly speeds up diagnostics and reduces unnecessary interventions.

Pipelines and Networks

For buried pipelines and networks, DETECT+ RED is used to trace the route of pipes and accurately locate leak points. It is ideal for flow tests in sanitation, stormwater, or industrial networks. Its clear coloration makes flows and infiltrations visible, even in areas where conventional inspections are difficult or impossible.

Industrial Applications

Cooling Circuits

In industrial cooling circuits, DETECT+ RED quickly identifies leaks in heat exchangers, closed circuits, or sensitive areas. It can also be used to simulate leaks as part of preventive maintenance or to validate repairs before recommissioning. This visual and non-destructive method helps anticipate problems and improve the reliability of installations.

Tanks and Vessels

The product is very useful for tightness testing of tanks and vessels. It highlights defects at welds, fittings, or foundations. Before commissioning or after an intervention, it allows connections to be checked and the absence of leaks to be ensured. The bright coloration immediately reveals seepage, simplifying and accelerating checks.

Industrial Processes and Maintenance

In industrial processes, DETECT+ RED is used to trace fluids in closed circuits and identify losses or contamination in internal networks. It is particularly effective for diagnosing leaks in machines, pumps, or hydraulic systems, where direct inspection is often impossible. This type of targeted intervention reduces downtime and improves the accuracy of repairs.

R&D and Simulation

In research and development activities, as well as in laboratories, DETECT+ RED is used to study flows and validate hydraulic models thanks to its immediate visibility. It is also used to simulate discharges in a controlled environment to evaluate their propagation and environmental impact. Its ease of use and readability make it a tool appreciated by engineers, researchers, and technicians.

Technical Features

Type: Red food-grade powder, non-fluorescent.

Dosage: 0.1 to 0.5 g per liter of water (optimal visibility guaranteed).

Packaging: Powder, concentrated liquid, and 500 ml spray (ideal for surface tightness tests).

Visibility: Bright red, visible in natural or white light (no UV lamp required).

Compatibility: Drinking water, sensitive environments, industrial networks.

Cleaning: Rinse thoroughly after use; use BRILLANT REMOVER to eliminate residual traces. Avoid use on absorbent surfaces (raw facades, natural stone, unprotected joints, etc.).

Safety: Non-polluting, non-toxic, environmentally friendly (when dosages are respected).

Usage instructions and precise dosage

  1. Preparation: Dilute 0.1 to 0.5 g of DETECT+ RED powder per liter of water (consider the final volume of water to be traced).
  2. Application: Inject the solution into the circuit or area to be tested.
  3. Visualization: The tracer is immediately visible in clear water. For charged water or highly absorbent soils/environments, increase the dosage to ensure strong, easily detectable coloration.
  4. Location: Detect leaks or infiltrations thanks to the visible coloration.
  5. Cleaning: Use BRILLANT REMOVER to eliminate residues after diagnosis; rinse thoroughly after use; avoid letting it dry on surfaces.

Precautions

  • Wear gloves during handling.
  • Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
  • Respect the dosage to ensure effectiveness and safety.

DETECT+ RED : Red food-grade tracer for leak detection

For a network of about 100 linear meters with a diameter of 150 mm (approximately 1.8 m³ in volume), it is recommended to dilute 5 to 10 grams of DETECT+ RED in a bucket of 10 to 20 liters of clear water before injection. This amount provides sufficient concentration for clear visualization at exit or exfiltration points, without overdosing. The colored solution is then injected upstream of the section to be controlled and visually monitored using a manhole or hydraulic control point downstream.

Yes. Its food-grade, non-toxic, and non-polluting formulation makes it perfectly suitable for drinking water networks, provided that the recommended dosages and usage conditions are respected.

A simple rinse with clear water is sufficient in most cases to remove residues. For deeper cleaning, especially on low-porosity surfaces, the use of Brillant Remover is recommended to effectively remove any colored traces without damaging materials. However, the use of DETECT+ RED is not recommended on highly absorbent surfaces (raw facades, natural stone, unprotected coatings, etc.), as the colored powder can penetrate the material and leave persistent traces. For these types of surfaces, it is preferable to use our colorless fluorescent tracers from the UV MAX range, which allow precise detection without the risk of permanent coloration.

Absolutely. This tracer is particularly suitable for hydrological applications in natural environments such as canals, dikes, or retention basins. Its visibility in natural light makes it a reliable and environmentally friendly tracking tool.

The red coloration remains visible for up to 48 hours, depending on usage conditions (water movement, temperature, sun exposure, absorption by surrounding materials).

Yes. DETECT+ RED is compatible with closed circuits and allows the location of micro-leaks, checking the tightness of fittings, and securing maintenance operations.

It is recommended to wear gloves and work in a ventilated area. Before use, check the compatibility of the tracer with the materials of the circuit (metals, plastics, joints). Always follow safety best practices and consult the SDS (Safety Data Sheet).
